At Biofabrik, we’re on a mission to make a positive impact and be a driving force for sustainability. We believe that being environmentally responsible goes beyond our day-to-day operations, it is a commitment to inspiring positive change in every aspect of our business and beyond, a value we share with the communities we serve.
Supporting causes that align with our values is a crucial part of our mission, that’s why we are always ready to help, whether it’s through environmental initiatives or animal welfare projects.
Our employees recently took part in a new initiative to volunteer their time and energy at the Tierhilfe Mallorca e.V. shelter in Andratx, Mallorca. This experience allowed our team to give back to the local community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by the team of volunteers, we learned about the work they do and the challenges they face in caring for the animals and we were struck by their passion and dedication.
Counting with around 40 cats and 20 dogs in residence, the shelter also hosts reptiles, including turtles: there is definitely no shortage of pets in need of love and attention at the foundation!
After contributing to the donations with food, blankets, towels and toys, we spent the day walking with the dogs, petting and entertaining the animals, providing affection and care, and helping with tasks such as producing social media content for their placement or making sure that each pet had their passport and documents in order.
Everybody was happy to see firsthand the impact that their volunteering had on the animals, and the pets were happy to have some new friends to interact with. We left the shelter feeling fulfilled and grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these animals.
While the Biofabrik employees were able to make a positive impact during their day of volunteering, the shelter always welcomes new volunteers to help care for the animals.
Anyone who wishes to help the Fundacion Arche Noah Andratx can do so by visiting the shelter. The residence is open every day from 11am to 1pm, accepting monetary donations, supplies, food and volunteer work. Even if you only have a few hours to spare, your contribution can make a big difference.
And for those who are looking to make an even greater impact, adopting one of the pets at the shelter is a great way to give them a forever home and contribute to the cause.**
**At the moment, adoption is only possible within European countries.
Adopting an animal from a shelter is not only a heartwarming act, but it also has a positive impact on animal welfare. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 6.5 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, and of those, approximately 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats!

Volunteering at Tierhilfe Mallorca e.V. was a powerful reminder for our employees about the importance of giving back to the community and supporting causes that align with our values. It’s easy to get caught up in our day-to-day work and forget about the issues and struggles faced by others.
That’s why we encourage our employees to get involved in causes that they are passionate about and to take the time to make a difference. Whether it’s through volunteering, fundraising, or simply spreading awareness, every little bit helps.
